Can a family man with Salary RM3,000 survive in Malaysia

Let's do some simple calculations here.

In Malaysia , the average family income is RM3,000 /month
(where father works, mother doesn't).

I understand there are many families whose monthly income does not reach RM3,000, but to make things simple, let's take RM3,000 as the figure. Ok right?

Okay, let's start rolling with a family which has Papa, Mama, 1 daughter and 1 son.

Calculation starts(all based on monthly expenses)...

Electricity and water bill: RM100
(No air-con, No home theatre, No water heater ... ok?)

Phone bill (Telekom): RM100

Meals for a happy family: RM775
(3meals on RM25/day, RM25 for 4 persons...?)

Papa makan / teh-tarik/ lunch during working hrs: RM155
(RM5/day, RM5 .... What can you have?)

Car repayment: RM400
(A proton saga Aeroback, 7yrs repayment)

Petrol (living in city, traffic-jam) : RM300
(go to work, bring son to school, only can afford one car operating)

Insurance: RM650
(kids, wife and myself)

**in my opinion it is too less because even for myself the insurance need RM 200+ per month!!**

House repayment: RM750
(low cost housing repayment for 30 yrs, retired still have to work to pay!)

Tuition: RM80
(got that cheap? i don't think so and it's 2 children)

Older children pocket money @ school: RM20
(RM1/day, eat bread?)

School fees: RM30
(enough?)

School books and etc: RM100
(always got extra to pay in school)

**College even worse!!!**

Miscellaneous: RM100
(shampoo, rice, sauce, toilet paper)

Oh wait!!! I have to stop here, so...
No Astro,
no movie @ cinema,
no DVD,
no CD,
no online,
No KFC,
No McDonald,
Cannot go Park walking during weekend (petrol expensive),
no chit chat on phone with grandparents, and etc...

Let's use a calculator to total up... WALAO EH! Shit! RM3,560 already...

EPF belum potong, income tax lagi......... already RM3,560 ....

How to survive lah tuan-tuan dan puan-puan sekalian ???

Our Deputy Prime Minister asked us to change lifestyle?

How to change? Don't eat? Don't work? Don't send children to school and study?

Besides that, I believe in Malaysia population, there are millions of rakyat Malaysia which still don't earn RM3,000/month! !!

Oil Price Increased in Malaysia!!

OMFG this really a bad news for every citizen in Malaysia because the price increased to approximately RM 0.80 per liter. A lot of people went out before 12am the price officially increased, and a lot traffic jam everywhere just like other country.

Will there be any subsidies? Because the poor will face a lot of problems if the government did not do something about it. After the oil price increased, a full tank of car fuel is almost RM 90+! Shocking but true, with an empty fuel tank. How can the poor pay for it while their salary are just RM 100+ per month?

This is really pushing the poor to a dead end. The consumers should find alternative like NGV. This is a car with gas tank. Meaning your car is using gas to power up the engine instead of oil. NGV is must more cheaper and I would say 3times cheaper but of course the car engine power will not be as powerful as oil. The problem for NGV is to install.....Price is not cheap if you want to install NGV but I suggest the consumers to install it for long term purposes.

It is must more worthwhile if you calculate it in the long term instead of short term. Beside installing this what have the government done for us? If the subsidies canceled then will the poor start selling car because they can't even afford to pay the installment....

Don't Rely on News too Much

You see we are all living in a semi-efficiency market where some information are available for us and some are not. Unfortunately when the news came it is already happened. You know in Malaysia the incident of all necessities like Rice recently the news said it won't raise up the price too high. The news said it but the reality is otherwise.

Last week I went to the supermarket to see whether the price of Rice did or did not went up. Well it did and it is just a slightly increase until today the price of 10kg rice had increased RM 10(approximately) eventhough the government did said it is in control, well they lied..... When the price went up the news will talk about it after 1 day. You're dead!

Everything is best to check it yourself instead of waiting the news, news is for those lazy ass. Yes you heard me. Even you wish to hear some information it is best to have first hand information, this is when your network best in use. Because you can't go everywhere and check everything at the same time, and it is time consumable.

With a good network you will be able to exchange crucial information like how much the rice price in other states and other countries. This way you will be able to make comparison. This method will be applicable to other things such as stock in the same industry as you can't watch every stock in the stock market exchange.
