Even Telekom Malaysia suffers loss

FOREX is a very risky, as my lecturer always told us. Even our national bank suffered loss from FOREX. Now Telekom Malaysia is a land line telephone company with Celcom combined is suffering net loss RM 165.8 million it's significantly affected by foreign exchange losses.....

Probably they need to hire a few experts to look over their foreign exchange in order to minimize the losses. Futhermore there is a disposal occured, the disposal of Societe Des Telecommunications De Guinee S.A. (Sotelgui) which had caused the losses.

Telekom will have to bring in more revenue to recover these losses....

Maybank is Expanding!

Now Maybank wants to be largest takaful operator in Malaysia!

Maybank has collected about RM30mil subscription from investors. Etiqa Takaful Bhd, the insurance and takaful division of Maybank, is in charge of distributing the fund.

The diversion will be made through metal and agriculture sector because these are the most high demand sectors which will gives a good return back to the investors.

Takaful Al-Waqiis now available for customers (18 - 70 age) to buy a minimum single investment of RM20,000 the investment can be made through 21 Etiqa Takaful branches.

Make Contest, Get More Clients

Typical contest objective is to get more customers or client....

Maybank newest Investment cost RM2.17bil

When you flip your today The Star newspaper, in business section you will see Maybank has a new "move", I had been observing Maybank these few months, this company had been making a lot of investment in the past 6 months, although recently there is a case that Maybank made loss, which is very BIG but it did not affect the shareholders, not sure how true is that.

Today we will see Malayan Banking Bhd bought a 15% stake in Pakistan’s fourth largest bank MCB Bank Ltd, previously known as Muslim Commercial Bank Ltd, at the total price of RM2.17bil cash! HUGE liquid asset gone to long term investment. Won't that made their ratio bad? Well seriously it does, but not that bad, in fact it help to boost up the share prices since Maybank kept making investment, utilizing their cash at the max level, investors will have a different view on it.

In addition, Malayan Banking Bhd will acquire another 5%, which eventually make it a major shareholder in MCB Bank Ltd. MCB Bank has approximately RM20.2bil worth of assets, hence it's a very strong company.

Seriously how well will this decision come out? Will it be like the previous case where they made loss? I seriously had no idea cause I am not the expert analyst that can predict the economics. Investing into other regional is very risky, but in return the shareholders who hope for high dividends will be distributed from the high return made from the risky investment.

Don't Rely on News too Much

You see we are all living in a semi-efficiency market where some information are available for us and some are not. Unfortunately when the news came it is already happened. You know in Malaysia the incident of all necessities like Rice recently the news said it won't raise up the price too high. The news said it but the reality is otherwise.

Last week I went to the supermarket to see whether the price of Rice did or did not went up. Well it did and it is just a slightly increase until today the price of 10kg rice had increased RM 10(approximately) eventhough the government did said it is in control, well they lied..... When the price went up the news will talk about it after 1 day. You're dead!

Everything is best to check it yourself instead of waiting the news, news is for those lazy ass. Yes you heard me. Even you wish to hear some information it is best to have first hand information, this is when your network best in use. Because you can't go everywhere and check everything at the same time, and it is time consumable.

With a good network you will be able to exchange crucial information like how much the rice price in other states and other countries. This way you will be able to make comparison. This method will be applicable to other things such as stock in the same industry as you can't watch every stock in the stock market exchange.

Don't Give Up

Whenever you had a business plan pop up inside your head and you share with your friends during some meal or maybe outing, suddenly you have the urge to ask them to join your venture. Have you ever been through this kind of situation?


After you had shared with them, they always pour " cold water " or criticise you and telling you to give up because it is not going to work.....But if we, the potential businessman think like them then we will not success!


Let me tell you this, those statements I had heard a lot of it. What i will say is that whenever you think of a business plan or whatever that can generate income and you have the urge to share with your friends just do it and take their criticism and make changes.


You will face a lot of criticism like i have but i know when to give up my old business plan and start a new one, you need to learn to let go and start a new one.


Never give up coming up a new business plan and share with those who share the same interest with you instead of those who are eventually the potential customers.....
